TRAVEL TIPS

Casual dress is the preferred fashion at Vallecito. Sweaters, fleece, or light jackets are recommended for summer evenings.
Our elevation is approximately 8,000 feet. We have an ideal four season climate with over 300 days of sunshine, annual average snowfall of 120 inches, mild summer temperatures and very low humidity. Always be prepared for late afternoon thunderstorms, particularly in high elevation wilderness areas.

There are 7 National Forest Campground sites at the lake. Contact the Bayfield Forest Service area office at (970) 884-2512 for more information.
